Form tabs
Use this form to add an entry to the Directory and record information about this contact. Only you and any others who have access to this information will see this entry in the Directory list.
This form has a body, like a message form, where you can store additional information.


Name
The contact's name as you want it to appear in the Directory.
If you don't update this field, it is automatically filled in when you enter the name information on the General tab. You can change what FirstClass puts in this field.
If you are a FirstClass Unified Communications user and you want to address messages using your phone, precede the person's name with a phone number. (Example, 9055554567 Bob Smith. When you address the message by phone, enter 9055554567 when prompted for the "To" name and the message will be delivered as a voice attachment to Bob's email address.)



General tab
Use this tab to provide the contact's name and email address.


Name
The contact's first, middle, and last names, as well as the appropriate title, such as Mr. or Mrs. Choose or type the title.
Email
The contact's email address.
If the address is not yet in the Directory, type it, then press Tab.
If the address is in the Directory, enter it the same way you would address a message.
Category
Any category that is useful to you.
You can organize addresses by category in list view (as we have organized documents in our help). In addition, categories are color coded in index card view.



Business tab
Use this tab to provide business information about the contact.
The Map button opens the map website for the address. You can specify which map application you want to use in your preferences.



Personal tab
Use this tab to provide personal information about the contact.
At "Birthday", click the field to open a popup calendar. To scroll months, click the single arrow buttons. Click the appropriate date, then click OK. You can also click Today to specify today's date.
The Map button opens the map web page for the address.



Notes tab
Use this tab to add freeform notes about the contact.


Synchronize entry with handheld device

Select this checkbox to synchronize this contact with device 1 defined on the Handheld Devices tab of the Preferences form.

Select this checkbox to synchronize this contact with device 2.

Select this checkbox to synchronize this contact with device 3.

Select this checkbox to synchronize this contact with device 4.



Attachments tab
Use this tab to attach files to this contact. To attach a file, drag it to the field on this tab, or click Browse to search for the file. To attach a FirstClass object, drag it to the field.
The rest of this form is the contact body, where you can type and format additional information.
