The Custodian account

About the Custodian account
The Custodian account is used to manage daily user and community maintenance of FirstClass Communities in a secure, controlled setting.
As a Custodian, you should make sure that user accounts are managed appropriately. Whenever possible, teach users how to do things for themselves, and only do the activities that they don't have permission to do. Consider writing a set of instructions or FAQs for questions you are asked often, or refer users to the appropriate help material.
As a Custodian, you can:
• check new invitations (sanity check)
• send invitations
• create new accounts
• monitor and suspend accounts
• make changes to user accounts
• upgrade people
• send new passwords
• open individual profiles.
In communities, you can:
• change community owner
• change community subscriptions
• change a community name and icon
• add moderator(s).
To access the Custodian account, log into the FirstClass client with the username "Custodian" (no quotes) and the password you were given for the Custodian account. We assume you already are familiar with how to use the FirstClass client.
Open Custodian Applications > BF Custodian App on your Custodian Desktop. A Custodian Directory Search form appears.

Checking the custodian's email
When FirstClass Communities users email the custodian, those messages are sent to the Custodian account's Mailbox.
You either need to log into the Custodian account regularly to check for these messages or set the custodian's preferences to redirect them to your personal account.
