Adding multiple users

The Power Custodian has the ability to add multiple users at once. You can do this by adding a group of records and then creating the accounts at once, importing .csv (Comma Separated Values) files, or both.
The steps to do this are:

Only a Power Custodian can use this functionality.

Adding records
You can add individual records or import records from .CSV files.
Importing .CSV files
To import the file, drag and drop the .csv file from your computer system to the Drag and drop area on the Custodian Directory Search form and click Create.
The information is automatically sorted into the appropriate columns and displayed.
Adding records
To add a record, click Add and populate the empty record.
Deleting records
If there are records you don't wish to add, select the checkbox for the applicable record and click Delete.

Validating the records
To validate the records, click Validate.
FirstClass Communities checks if:
• the user ID already exists
• the email address is formatted properly
• the Department Group exists.
If any of these fail validation, the failed field is displayed in red and a red dot appears beside the record.
Fix any records that fail validation and then click Validate again. Repeat until all records have been fixed.

If you choose to create the accounts with errors, users with existing account names will not be created. If the group does not already exist, it will be created.

Send invitations
If you wish to invite each user to FirstClass Communities by sending an invitation once their account has been created, check the Invitations box at the top of the form.

Create the accounts
Once the file has been imported and all the records have been validated, click Create.
When the accounts have been created, a report will be sent to the FirstClass Mailbox belonging to the Power Custodian. It lists each record and whether its creation was successful or not.
